The Ministry of Health & Prevention signs a new MoU with the Emirates Medical Association
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) has recently signed an MoU with the Emirates Medical Association in the UAE to further the development and training of its healthcare workers.
The agreement follows on from the MOHAP’s decision to recently sign an MoU with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to further develop its paediatric care services in the region.
The partnership is part of the Ministry's strategy to ensure that training services provided meet international standards in terms of quality and efficiency, and meet the organisation’s need to have a strong institutional capacity through the implementation of professional development programs, seminars, campaigns, workshops and conferences on local health problems and solutions.
This will therefore improve professional performance and skills of its medical staff, enrich scientific knowledge, and enhance laboratory and clinical practices.

The parties will work together to deliver technical support for joint programs, including training facilities and educational materials, and provide accreditation for the continuing education and professional development programs.
Additionally, the Ministry of Health has signed a third MoU with Boehringer Ingelheim in Germany to develop and enhance its workforce within the treatment and symptoms surrounding stroke prevention.
It has been found that each year, up to 8,000 patients in the UAE suffer from a stroke, a staggering number to which the Ministry of Health seeks to urgently address through developing new prevention programs and enhanced patient management.
