The healthcare industry is set to grow exponentially in the next give years. The GCC, in particular, is set to grow up to $71.3 billion by 2020, attracting health and technology investors alike, as well as significant investment by the GCC government.

It has recently been announced that Royal Phllips Middle East has appointed Ozlem Findanci as its new Chief Executive Officer, where Findanci will be responsible for 16 countries whilst driving the company’s strategic objectives.

Philips has had a longstanding history in the region, and the Middle East and Turkey is an important market for Philips, one which reflects our growing commitment towards driving our investments further across the region,” Findanci has stated.

“We are keen to be working with the private sector as well as governments throughout the region to help build an innovative approach towards a stronger healthcare infrastructure, in line with national health agendas.

“The aim is to optimise healthcare data management, enhance clinical performance, patient experience, and deliver an added value to the local health systems.”

Appointed as Vice President and General Manager to the Philips Consumer Products Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) in 2011, Findanci became the Senior Vice President Health Systems for the Middle East and Turkey in 2015

Since this time, Findanci has carried out a number of successful projects that aimed at extending healthcare solutions, digital health applications and increasing people’s access to healthcare services.

“Philips is focused on expanding its core business to address the opportunities in the fast-growing health technology market around the world, including the Middle East,” Findanci informed Bloomberg Businessweek Middle East.

“In an increasingly connected world, where people are wanting to live healthier lives and societies are looking for more effective and lower-cost solutions across the health continuum, our businesses–with their combined clinical and consumer capabilities and cloud-based digital health platform–are excellently positioned to capture growth.”
