10. MDMA (Medical Device Manufacturers Association)

The national trade MDMA is based in Washington, DC. and has provided advocacy services which endorse patient access and innovation for over 25 years. Its mission is to ensure patients have timely access to safe and effective medical products that improve health outcomes.

 

9. AIMED (Association of Indian Medical Device Industry) 

AiMeD is an Umbrella Association of Indian Manufacturers of Medical Devices which covers various forms of medical devices from consumables to disposables, electronics to implants. 

AIMED has over 300 manufacturers in its primary membership and 200 associate members who represent 1,200 medical device manufacturers.

 

8. IMDA (Irish Medical Devices Association

Headquartered in Dublin, the IMDA represents the medical technology sector in Ireland and specialises in lobbying, networking, training and events.

The association aims to promote sustainable development and support profitable growth of multinational and local medical device and diagnostic companies.

 

7. JPMA (Japan Federation of Medical Devices Associations)

JFMDA has 21 members (representing about 4,280 companies), as well as 140 individual companies registered as supporting members. Founded in 1984, JFMDA liaises between industries and the government, expanding its scale and activities. The JFMDA has contributed to the improvement of Japan’s healthcare. 

 

6. Swiss Medtech 

Based in Bern, Swiss Medtech was established in 2017 and represents over 750 companies and 67,500 employees. The group is committed to building an environment in which ‘medical technology can deliver top performance for the benefit of first-class medical care’. 

As an industry association, Swiss Medtech is the first point of contact for all matters in the Swiss medtech industry.

 

5. AdvaMed (Advanced Medical Technology Association) 

AdvaMed's member companies build medical devices, diagnostic products and health information systems which are used in disease detection and healthcare treatments. The association calls for a legal, regulatory and economic environment that advances global health care by assuring worldwide patient access to the benefits of medical technology. 

 

4. APACMed (Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association) 

Based in Singapore and founded in 2014, APACMed represents the medical technology sector in the Asia-Pacific. Ensuring patient-centric care is APACMed's mission, as it works proactively with bilateral, regional and local government bodies to build better policies, demonstrate the importance of innovation and promote regulatory convergence. 

 

3. MedTech Europe 

MedTech Europe formed as an alliance between EDMA, representing the European in vitro diagnostic industry and Eucomed, representing the European medical devices industry, in 2012. MedTech Europe’s mission is to make innovative medical technology available to more people, while helping healthcare systems move towards a sustainable path. 

 

2. IDSA (Infectious Diseases Society of America

Based in Arlington, USA, and founded in 1963, the IDSA represents a wide range of healthcare professionals who specialise in infectious diseases.

The association had its annual meeting this October in Boston, which saw the participation of scientists, physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss the most recent developments in disease diagnosis and treatment.

1. RAPS (Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society

The Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) was founded in 1976. It is the largest global organisation involved in the regulation of healthcare products, such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, biologics and nutritional products. 

RAPS supports healthcare professionals as a neutral, non-lobbying nonprofit organisation and offers education and training, professional standards, publications, research, knowledge sharing, networking, career development opportunities and other valuable resources. It also offers the Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC), the only post-academic professional credential to recognise regulatory excellence.
