With three Magnet-designated hospitals, Emory Healthcare is set to partner with digital health company Share Care to launch The Emory Healthcare Innovation Hub this September.

Through this collaboration, unmet user needs will be identified, and patient-centered solutions will be developed, tested and implemented within an innovation ecosystem to minimise cost burdens for both patients and healthcare systems, all whilst improving clinical outcomes.

As the US healthcare system shifts from fee-for-service to value-based care, it is critical that we not only understand the evolving needs of patients and providers but also address those needs in ways that maximise technology to both enable the best possible care and engage patients throughout the entire care journey,” explained Scott Boden, MD, vice president of business innovation for Emory Healthcare and chief medical and quality officer for Emory University Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital.

“Our shared commitment to studying, creating and implementing digital health technologies will drive greater value to our patients in ways that will help them live their healthiest lives.”

Providing a comprehensive and personalised health profile where patients can easily connect to information, evidence-based programmes and health professionals, the Sharecare platform supports providers and employers to effectively scale outcomes-based health and wellness solutions.

“There are ample opportunities to improve both quality and efficiency within hospital systems, but to affect the disruption we believe is necessary, we needed a partner that shares not only our passion for demand-driven, consumer-centric innovation but also our philosophy of empathy,” commented Jeff Arnold, co-founder, chairman and CEO of Sharecare.

Partnering with Innovation Hub Enterprises (IHE), the firm will oversee the direction and operation of the Emory Healthcare Innovation Hub to incubate, pilot, and commercialise new solutions.
